ALL TOOLING, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, AND THE ORIGINAL MINICRAFT BRAND HAS BEEN PURCHASED BY ACADEMY!
We anticipate that many of Minicraft's popular kits such as the amazing 1/350 Titanic will be eventually be re-released under the Academy/Mincraft name! In the USA, Academy is distributed by MRC and we expect that the Minicraft brand will be rolled into that arrangement.
Minicraft Models celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2019. They were known for their iconic 1/350 Titanic model kit, perhaps the most favorite ship kit among modelers. Another of their popular kits that it seems everyone has built at one time or another, was Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose. Even in 1/200 scale, it's a big model.
Minicraft also had the largest selection of 1/48 civil aviation model kits depicting aircraft from legendary companies such as Beechcraft, Cessna, and Piper. Each of these kits was packed with detail and features and they'll build into striking models (check out our history page on these kits here).
Minicraft's line of 1/72 aircraft included the impressive Martin Mariner, a newer kit with a 28-inch wingspan. Their Ventura and B-24 were modelers' favorites. 1/48 scale aircraft included the colorful "Yippee" P-38PJ, and you could build a small collection of quarter-inch scale Blackhawk helicopters
Minicraft's 1/144 scale aircraft offerings were unmatched in the industry with a big lineup of legacy WWII kits and modern military aircraft with a range of airliners and large military subjects such as their new-tooled C-130 and KC-135 series. Most Minicraft kits featured top-quality Cartograf decal sheets with many interesting subjects.
